Single out Feb 11th 2021. Juka Trashy arrived at Jonathan Jensen, Cable Hell Studio, with three tracks: Electronic drums, a guitar riff, and synths. From these three elements, they built a song with Juka's strong and dark vocals in front followed by a simple and catchy guitar riff as well as a smooth bass. In the choruses, you'll experience ten backing vocals, seven guitars - from clean over surf to metal - a full on explosion energy. With Jonathan Jensen's wizardry and playful approach to the music and with his recordings - that are 100 % analog - he initiated a great production with the trashy rock musician. Juka Trashy’s single "Post Drunk Depression" is a great example of how creativity evolves, and artists find new creative paths in a time when the lockdown is an everyday word, and your social circle has decreased to a minimum. Juka Trashy is not merely the songwriter and composer, she is also the person behind all vocals and instruments of the single. Jonathan Jensen and Juka Trashy have both functioned as technicians and producers, whilst mastering was done by Pete Maher. cover photo: Ioana Sings. The Juka Trashy album Auto Fiction is inspired by the soundtracks of Tarantino and Lynch films and focuses on creating a cinematic experience rather than clinging on to a specific genre. You will experience a dusty and lo-fi universe of surf, rock, punk, and a dash of bluesy singer-songwriter on the album.
Auto Fiction is a great example of what comes out of creative processes in a collision of different places: The cultural melting pot of Berlin, writing retreats in Austin (Texas) and Paris, Juka Trashy’s hometown Aarhus, coffees in Copenhagen, beers on Christiana and most importantly: Amazing musicians from more than ten different countries.
The philosophy behind Auto Fiction is that you can’t create a musical journey for your listener without travelling, and you can’t make an album with a wide scope if everybody has the same cultural or artistic background. Auto Fiction has grown out of the international collaborations that are established when you dare to think out of the box and break the boundaries of genre, text, instrumentation, and working processes. All contributors have been asked to leave their unique fingerprint on the album and to consider it as a playground for creativity.
