More Less No Yes is the first single from an album that, with Juka’s own words will “sound like a Tarantino soundtrack, just without the movie”.
More Less No Yes opens with hard electronic drums wrapped in crisp vibrato guitar and Juka’s deep and intense voice. The temperamental and danceable strummings supplemented with slack surf loops, a fair amount of tremolo and Esben Inglevs smooth bass creates a feeling of stepping into a Tarantino movie.
Think about westerns, cactuses, and inspiration from the early 1960’s role models, when Juka combines detail with simplicity, the raw and the rounded, rock’n’roll, and surf.
Juka cheers her heroes, the frontiers of rock music, with a song that shows her conscious about her musical background, while she places herself into a modern context.
Juka wants to combine the best from the past and the present in her recordings and is very dogmatic when it comes to recording and mastering and that’s why she has chosen Penguin Productions and ET Mastering.
lyrics
Thursday evening play a show
You’re in the bar, you make me glow
Maybe you can drive my car
Come on backstage it’s not far
Dam dam dam dam dam dam more
Dam dam dam dam dam dam less
Dam dam dam dam dam dam no
Dam dam dam dam dam dam yes
Riding moped late at night
Sit behind and hold on tight
Take off shoes and woolen socks
Midnight kisses, laughs and talks
Dam Dam….
Sweet goodbye it’s early dawn
Morning chill I squeeze your arm
Smell of you walk to the bus
Is it me or is it us
A rendez-vous
A night or two
Me gustas tu
And then it’s through
I wrote you that I had a blast
Did I text you way too fast
I will wait ‘till Sunday come
Then I’ll ask you if you want some
Dam dam dam…
